Nganjo Village, Uganda. People affected: 3,000. Host Club: Kampala South Rotary Club. Total project cost: $34,000. Club share (with full DDF Share match): $9,214

  • Health Component: For prevention of malaria transmission. 480 long-lasting, insecticide-treated, mosquito nets.
  • Health Component: Clean water. None, clean water is available in the village.
  • Hunger Alleviation/ Income Generation/Environmental Component: Provide two brick making machines to the village to allow them to make quality bricks without burning large quantities of wood. Bricks shall be used for building rain harvesting water tanks and for building homes and chicken houses.
  • Hunger/ Income Generation Component: Provide flocks of chickens to 15 families including all equipment plus feeds and vaccinations for the first six months to assure a healthy flock. A portion of the eggs produced will be used to feed the children in school.
  • Education Component: Sensitization on mosquito abatement and proper use of mosquito nets; Training on brick making. Training on care of poultry flocks and small business practices.

  • Education Component: Provide 400 school desks, 14 teachers chairs and tables, 14 chalk boards and a solar system for lighting at the two local primary schools.

Kabyuma Village, Uganda. People affected: 2,530. Host Club: Mubende Rotary Club. Total project cost: $34,807. Club share (with full DDF Share match): $9,445

  • Hunger Alleviation/Income Generation Component: Provide high quality maize seeds to each family along with beans, potatoes and cassava stems. Provide 20 female, cross breed goats and four boer male goats plus veterinary services and training
  • Education Component: Provide 100 student desks to two primary schools. Construct a eight rain harvesting system for the primay school. Provide school uniforms to 40 orphans.
